You never lean back, only forward. Dialogue scenes are loading screens between two car chases, and your popcorn timing is calibrated to explosions. When the credits roll, heart rate is the only rating that counts.
For you, cinema is a sport: car chases, close combat, a countdown running out far too fast. Character development is fine, as long as it happens between two stunts. If your palms are dry when the credits roll, it wasn't a good movie.
